Key Word:- PEACE

Title:- Rhythmic Fluidity

Psalm 55:12
Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Chopin’s, “Funeral March” in B flat minor, is embedded in our psyche as a sombre plodding tone that clothes our very inner self with grey and dreariness as we trudge towards the open grave. It's not the nicest piece of music to greet the day with. Thank God it wasn't the only piece of music he wrote!

Some days are like a death march though. No matter how hard you rebuke and bind the mail box in the name of Jesus, the bills keep coming in. Even if you're getting sick from eating too much humble pie, your spouse is still angry with you. You don't want to go to school, because none of the kids like you, and neither do the teachers but you're the Principal, so you've to get up and go anyway! Life and certain days seem to sometimes posses within them the B flat trudging rhythm of the death march, don’t they? And so with deep sighs and head's down, we eventually cave in to the inevitable, depressive death of ourselves! “Da Dt….D Da.. Da Da Dah D Dt… Da Dah…”

However friends, it doesn't have to be that way. Even in the most difficult of circumstances instead of marching to the rhythm of death, we can march to the sound of the rhythm of life. It can be as simple as making sure we gaze outwards to Jesus and then handle all things we are involved in with the lightest of touches. This too shall pass you see? Let the Lord take care of a few issues eh? Shall we give them over to Him?

Chopin, Polish composer and pianist, made his debut at the age of eight. As a performer, Chopin revolutionized the technique of pianoforte-playing, turning the hands outward and favoring a light, responsive touch. His compositions for piano, which include two concertos and other works with orchestra, are characterized by great volatility of mood, and rhythmic fluidity.’ Yes indeed, Chopin favored a Light responsive touch! Do you get it?

Today, hand some stuff over to Jesus, say to him “here you are Lord, this is killing me! Please take care of it for me.” Don’t get too serous about things even the most important of things! Have a light responsive touch. Look to Jesus, and then let go of a few things, listen to the Holy Spirit, let Him tell you when to pick it up, make that phone call, nudge that person, address that issue. Let God's rhythm of life flow through you today, adopt the lightest of touches, breathe deeply, relax and live! When we do this dear friends, when we have the lightest of touches, both today's destinations and tomorrow's departures, will all be life itself to us!

Listen:- Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

Pray:- Lord God , let me have a lightest of touch on the silliest and most serious of things that present themselves in my life today. In Jesus name, amen.

Title:- The Greater Guidance Systems of God

2 Kings 8:1,2
Then Elisha spoke to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise and go, you and your household, and stay wherever you can; for the LORD has called for a famine, and furthermore, it will come upon the land for seven years.” So the woman arose and did according to the saying of the man of God, and she went with her household and dwelt in the land of the Philistines seven years.

Guidance is such a confusing issue for the Christian. One of the main reasons why this is so, comes from our perception of the exactness of God’s goodness in relation to His total control. Our thought process might go like this: “God is in control. He knows how many hairs are on my head, He knows where the sparrow falls. God is in control. He knows the thoughts in my heart the words in my head before they slip from my stammering lips. God knows everything, controls everything. He is my Dad and He will do good to me. He will never let anything bad happen to me and will always give me clear direction” Oh and by the way, this isn't just a good internal monologue, this is also great and correct Biblical thinking! So far so good then...

So, having come to grips with and believed God’s gracious Sovereignty toward us, why then do we oftentimes then find ourselves in ungracious, difficult and even terrifying situations?! The former reasoning on God’s loving and gracious sovereignty does not go with the latter situations I have described us often finding oursleves in and so we when we do, we become both perplexed and worried. After all, you hadn’t been sinning; you had been seeking God and His glory and yet look at this mess. What’s happening here? Is there something more we should have known about His good will toward us?

“Ah well of course,” says the theological acrobat, “you have probably stepped into God’s permissive will, rather than His perfect will for your life, and that’s always problematic. You’ve missed your way, you’ve not been listening as acutely as you should have been somewhere along your journey, no sir, so then, right now, you had better start asking for God’s perfect will to be done in your life, mate!” My stomach get's tied in knots just thinking about such a ‘helpful’ theological conversation. What to do then, what to do?

Well, look at God’s will here in our verse today. “I am sending a famine. Get out and go ANYWHERE but here.” In light of God’s Sovereignty this seems pretty poor direction doesn’t it? If God told me something like this I would say, “Lord, thanks, but shall I go to the South where the sun is shining bright and my rheumatism may find some relief? Should I go to the North where the cost of housing is cheaper? Should I go to East and have a greater witness amongst people that do not know the Lord. Should I go to the dangerous badlands of the West, where amongst the raucous mountains, sinners abound? Lord, where should I go?” Well, the answer of God towards us right here would still be: “GO ANYWHERE but here!”

Now don’t get me wrong, I do believe that God is into specific direction giving. Not all the time though and not here in our verse for today. He is certainly not saying to the Shunamite, “you are so insignificant in the big play, it does not matter where you are on the field girl, just go. ANYWHERE!” Nope, He warns only her to leave the land, and in so doing, she is exceptionally blessed and supremely loved. She matters to Him. “Get up, get out and go ANYWHERE but here.” says God. "I'm gonna leave the 'where' to you and our wisdom, you and your desire, you and your own possibilities." Can you see that?

Let us relax a little more in the three greater truths of direction finding:

Greater truth No1: It doesn’t matter where you live but it matters HOW you live, where you live.
Greater truth No2: You can only serve God, where you are right now.
Greater truth No3: Your influence is greater when you live abundantly in your time frame. Don’t wait for your space frame to be more pleasing to you. How we live in time is of more eternal consequence than where we live in space. 'Now,' is much more important than 'where.'

Friend, if you are fretting today about the coming New year and about your geographical locale within it, then maybe some prayerful consideration of this trinity of truth will help focus you a little more. Of course like all great trinities, they are in fact, all one and the same truth. Here it is:-How and now, is always greater than where and when. This should be our priceless and well practiced phonetic.

Listen:- We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

Pray: - Lord, don’t let me grow old waiting to be in the right place to serve You, to be Your salt and to be Your light. Rather, help me today to live in the now and in the how, trusting You, O wise and loving Father to take care of all my where’s and of all my when’s. Amen.
Key Word:- INTIMACY

Title:- Night Swimming / Skinny Dipping with God

Genesis 12:1
Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you."

Let us this coming year be rid of the loneliness that acting brings! Please God this year that we might be loved for who we are and not for whom others think we should be. Indeed, let us begin to love other people for who they are as intrinsically valuable in themselves and in themselves alone. Let us honour one another and ourselves this coming year. Let us obey the truth. Hmmm…Love, honour and obey. What familiar sounding words! Tell you what, let me better put it this way; why not let us finally get married to Jesus this coming year?

Now, regarding the marriage ceremony, I wish I could open the Bible and say, “repeat these words after me” but the problem is that there appears to be no instruction in the Bible for words to be said or practices to be followed concerning a wedding ceremony. This fact takes on an air of some mystery when you begin to see that a wedding is both the beginning and the end of God’s revealed purpose in both space and time! The Bible’s presentation of this fact is akin to having identical bookends that frame a collection of stories in 66 separate books, all possessing the same embracing theme. Indeed, this consistent Scriptural theme of marriage is set in the whole Bible like apples of gold in settings of silver… just beautiful.

In Genesis, Adam the first man is brought a bride, formed from himself, for himself. In Revelation, Jesus the last Adam is brought by God the Holy Spirit, a bride formed from Himself, for Himself. In this final book of the Bible we also find that the big, even the everlasting 'Parteh' of heaven, is called the 'Marriage Supper of the Lamb!' yes, in the Bible, the Start, the Middle and End of the revelation of God revolves around a wedding. Imagine that! No, you cannot ignore it friends; marriage presented to us in the Scriptures, is seminal and climactic, pregnant with picture and instruction. (Oh and don't worry about the sexual terminology, it's all God's.) This marital and faithful intimacy, this unique oneness, this ultimate closeness, this naked and ecstatic knowingness that marriage should bring to us, are all that God intends for each one of us to have with Him in this coming year.

So this year, why not unfurl that great sail of destiny and discovery, which has been flapping disconcertingly in the knowing depths of your heart, moved by the growing wind of the latter days now gone by and begin to push out and embark most thoroughly, upon your very own, great marital adventure with God. Even setting out into the depths of God's great love for you. After all, “One day,” He says, “You shall call me 'my husband'.

Until that great and heavenly communal marriage party begins for the whole church, let us personally get naked with God and go night swimming in all His moonlight fair. What does this mean? Well, this year friends, yes this very year, it means to be real, to be honest with yourself and to be honourable with God, by aspiring to be only yourself with Him and with His people. In this way, let’s all finally get married to God!

Listen: - Those who go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters, They see the works of the LORD, And His wonders in the deep. Psalm 107:23-24

Pray: -Jesus, this whole year, as we aspire to be who You created us to be, please fill our hearts with faith and all our hopeful nets with joyous, naked wonder, In Jesus name I ask it, amen.

REM Night Swimming:-

Night swimming deserves a quiet night
The photograph on the dashboard, taken years ago,
Turned around backwards so the windshield shows
Every streetlight reveals the picture in reverse
Still, it's so much clearer
I forgot my shirt at the water's edge
The moon is low tonight

Night swimming deserves a quiet night
I'm not sure all these people understand
It's not like years ago,
The fear of getting caught,
Of recklessness and water
They cannot see me naked
These things, they go away,
Replaced by everyday

Night swimming, remembering that night
September's coming soon
I'm pining for the moon
And what if there were two
Side by side in orbit
Around the fairest sun?
That bright, tight forever drum
Could not describe nightswimming

You, I thought I knew you
You, I cannot judge
You, I thought you knew me,
This one laughing quietly underneath my breath
Nightswimming

The photograph reflects,
Every streetlight a reminder
Nightswimming deserves a quiet night, deserves a quiet night

Hos 2:13-23
13 I will punish her For the days of the Baals to which she burned incense. She decked herself with her earrings and jewelry, And went after her lovers; But Me she forgot," says the LORD.14 God's Mercy on His People
'Therefore, behold, I will allure her, Will bring her into the wilderness, And speak comfort to her.15 I will give her her vineyards from there, And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope; She shall sing there,As in the days of her youth, As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt.16 "And it shall be, in that day, "Says the LORD, "That you will call Me 'My Husband ,'And no longer call Me 'My Master,'17 For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals, And they shall be remembered by their name no more.18 In that day I will make a covenant for them With the beasts of the field, With the birds of the air, And with the creeping things of the ground. Bow and sword of battle I will shatter from the earth,To make them lie down safely.19 "I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;20 I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,And you shall know the LORD.21 "It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer," says the LORD;"I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.22 The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.23 Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people,' You are My people!' And they shall say, 'You are my God!'" NKJV

Title:- WORD FOR THE WEEK - SUNDAY Dec-19th-2010

Well, I hope this wee note finds you all well. Here is my word for the week and some important information below which you might like to know about.

Whispering Word leadership course adds up through successes and failures

By Peter Wooding
Europe Bureau Chief for ASSIST News Service

LONDON, ENGLAND (ANS) -- Whispering Word ministries is launching an innovative course called Managing 4 Multiplication to empower Christian leaders to grow in their ministry by drawing on experiences of successes, failures and how they overcame them.

"Churches that have seen growth are because of good management and good visionary leadership from the people in charge. I thought it would be great to get some folk together who have succeeded in terms of church multiplication to share some of the secrets of their success, not just that but also share their failures," said Reverend Victor Robert Farrell, founder of Whispering Word.

He added: "It's great to see the pastor up front leading a church of thousands but it's good to know that he's also spent several visits in hospital for stress related symptoms going through the process. You've got to have the two there because whenever there's any kind of growth there's always resistance from the enemy and people need to know some of the difficulties that other folks have gone through what they've been able to overcome, so really what I'm interested in is not just sharing successes but sharing some failures and some things that have been overcome as well."

Each one day course taking place over eleven Saturdays starting in January 2011 will cover four sessions, featuring teaching from some of the country's most respected Christian leaders will take place at Premier Christian Radio in Central London.

Reverend Farrell says the sessions will cover Visioneering, Pillars and Killers, Triple E and Reaching Targets.

"We'll look at how to get vision, how to keep it, how to continually define it and make sure that the fuel of that vision is always there at the forefront. The second session is called 'Pillars and Killers' - in other words how to identify those things which are going to be pillars to the vision which will support it, how to promote those and how to avoid the practices and people that actually prove to be killers of the vision as well.

"So I think it's quite important looking at pillars and killers knowing that the two are there. Then in the third session we look at the need for 'Triple E' - excellence, enthusiasm and exclusions. We'll look at how to implement excellent business practice, enthusiastic visionary leadership and how to be very brutal about excluding those things and those people who'll destroy you."

"The fourth session to going to be 'Reaching Targets' - how to identify these targets how to correctly impact them in a post-modern and pagan society and then how to measure the response. We want to be biblical and practical and a key phrase here is we believe being biblical is being practical.

"We want to make sure that the Kingdom of God is beginning to pull together by sharing successes, failures and how to overcome them."

British Reverend enables Mexican Mother to reach her Hispanic Community through Bible apps

Thanks to a unique partnership, British apps Rev. Victor Robert Farrell and Mexican mother Laura Hercha, are having an increasing impact among iPhone users across the Hispanic communities in North and South America. Each day Rev. Farrell writes morning and evening devotionals for his 'WhisperingWord' iPhone and iPad Bible apps and emails them across the world from his home in sleepy Seaford in Essex, UK to Laura, who was born and raised in Mexico, but now lives with her husband and children in Denver, Colorado. Once Laura has translated these into Spanish, the Hispanics across North America and throughout South America reads these thought-provoking writings resulting in increasing impact on their families and communities. Most 'WhisperingWord' apps are downloaded in the Americas and a large percentage of those users are Spanish speakers. “I have a Colombian friend living in the US who, through the internet, shares these meditations with her family in Colombia and then her family shares them with their church; I see this happening all the time,” said Laura. Laura explains why she believes these devotionals are having such an impact: “Pastor Farrell’s meditations are not just ‘light’ meditations. They are ‘meat’ for Christians. They really make you reflect on so many things. Sometimes I am translating and I have to stop because God moves my heart so much with a meditation that I have to get on my knees and weep and repent, or pray and be thankful for something!” Laura has been running her own translation business for the past 17 years, but she sees her translation work for Pastor Farrell as a tremendous ministry opportunity: “When I knew about this translation, the first thing that came to my mind was ‘The Great Commission’, since as a wife and mother of three, I’m usually very busy balancing my time between family and business. So I really don’t have the opportunity to go out there and share the Gospel with others as much as I would want to. “Doing this through the internet gives me the opportunity of being part of the Great Commission and sharing the Gospel to all Latin American countries! I feel blessed to be part of something that Jesus told us to do, ‘to go and share the Gospel to the end of the world.’ I know that being part of this ministry is doing that: Sharing the Gospel with my people, who are Hispanics.” Laura finds it amazing that not only is she ministering to her own people through an English Christian many thousands of miles away, but that it has also had a positive impact on her family: “I praise Jesus for this opportunity, because there’s no other way people can relate to people on the other side of the world. Pastor Farrell’s meditations move you; they touch you and challenge you. I don’t feel this is just a job, but a blessing from God to my family and myself. Many times after I’ve translated the meditations I share them with my family during dinner time and not only have they been very blessed, but it makes it a great subject of discussion and time together for all of us! Besides, being able to relate to someone so far away from here, is great.” Reverend Farrell is delighted that WhisperingWord is enabling Laura to fulfil this ministry opportunity: “WhisperingWord is all about enabling other people to fulfil their destinies. It’s not so much about the promotion of my writings but it’s all about helping other people achieve their calling and destiny. So to be doing this with Laura, is just a privilege.” The British Apps Reverend hopes he can continue to reach more and more people in this ever-growing mission field: “With my experience having worked in Florida, I can see how the Latino community is an ever growing community. Even though the US is still the largest English speaking mission field in the world, it also became evident to me that it’s going to become the largest Spanish speaking mission field in the world since iPhones are very popular in the Latino community!” ____________________

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." NKJV

GET READY THIS WEEK!! Because we have just uploaded the Bible Book Overview for 2nd Kings - which is pressed down and running over with message of: ‘DO NOT MISTAKE GOD’S MANIFEST MERCY FOR HIS SEEMING INDIFFERENCE TO SIN CONTINUED IN’.

‘The Israelites persisted in all the sins of Jeroboam and did not turn away from them until the LORD removed them from his presence, as he had warned through all his servants the prophets. So the people of Israel were taken from their homeland into exile in Assyria, and they are still there’ (2 Kings 17:22,23 TNIV).

‘Nevertheless, the LORD did not turn away from the heat of his fierce anger, which burned against Judah … So the LORD said, “I will remove Judah also from my presence as I removed Israel, and I will reject Jerusalem, the city I chose, and this temple, about which I said, ‘There shall my Name be’”’ (2 Kings 23: 26,27 TNIV).

A NOTE FROM THEPRESIDENT OF PRINCETON :: ‘The bow of God's wrath is bent, and thearrow made ready on the string, andjustice bends the arrow at your heart, andstrains the bow, and it is nothing but themere pleasure of God, and that of an angryGod, without any promise or obligation atall, that keeps the arrow one moment frombeing made drunk with your blood’(Jonathan Edwards, 8 July 1741).

Sep-06-Wake Up! APP

Key Word:- HOPE

Title:- But One Word

Genesis 1:1,2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Sin and Satan have performed a terrible work of destruction upon mankind. Poverty, disease, despondency, desperateness, deviation, devastation and before I distress us any further, I had just better stop. The world’s a mess and everyone in it.
A wee while ago a couple of us went out just hours before the landfall of a large Hurricane distributing leaflets that announced the church would be open for shelter. A very thin and very dark African woman stood alone in a small shopping complex. She carried with her a clear trash bag full of her belongings. She spoke little English and it was hard to communicate as she nonchalantly pulled on a cigarette in her mouth. I don’t know if she was an addict or a prostitute but having left her with some instructions on how to find us, I walked away from her touched by a sense of loneliness, uselessness, formlessness even, as though I had just left the gravitational pull of a spiritual void, a place of pleading darkness.

It is particularly hard for those of us who have family, maybe even sons and daughter’s who carry that same darkness that same seeming sucking void that daily appears and fades them away before our very eyes. It’s hard but remember dear friends that God understands our hurting hearts in this and how difficult it is for us to enjoy the warmth of the Daysprings light whilst those we love burn away like imploding stars in the high hopes of your own crashing heavens.

Today, I would point us to the Mighty Creator. Look at our verse; God’s Spirit even now, even in answer to our daily prayers, is hovering over the faces of the formless void and the deep, deep darkness of those we love. That word ‘hover’ is not like a news crew would just look out of a watching helicopter to simply report the devastation, no, it’s not simply to ‘hover’ as an information gathering exercise, neither is it to ‘hover’ like some search and rescue helicopter throwing down a ladder or a life raft and pleading for the survivor to grab hold. Oh if only they would lay hold! But no it’s not that either. It’s not that kind of ‘chancy’ and powerless hope-fullness.

This ‘hovering’ is not panicked either. It is an ‘at ease’ brooding. It is an expectant fluttering; it is almost a cherishing caressing, a moving, an incubating, an enticing, a watching with purpose, a fluttering upon, like that of a mother hen over her soon to be hatched eggs. There is a sense of both care and communication in this word ‘hover’, for God, when He is ready, is about to speak and when God speaks friends, the universe is both changed and then sustained forever.

Wherever you see darkness, deeps and devastation, then with your eyes of faith, see also the Mighty Creating Spirit of God hovering in expectant fluttering around the lost, even our own lost loved ones. They are but one word from deliverance, but one word from blessing, but one word from change, but one word from salvation, but one word from life, but one word, that’s all friends, just one word! Remember that today, and take great hope in our great Creator God.

Listen:- Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. Luke 7:7

Pray:- Blessed are you O Lord, King of ALL creation, Lord of heaven and earth. Creator God, loving Father, hear our prayer and deliver those in deep darkness and formless voids, into light and change and purpose. For Your everlasting glory and for our eternal comfort we ask this: “Father just say the Word and they shall live.” Amen.

Title:-Whats Coming Your Way This Week...CHATTER

Welcome to Word For The Week

THE FORUM question for this week which is " HOW DO WE GET MEN TO COME TO CHURCH?" For example, at this Christian men's Conference, Saturday Night was "Tins & Hymns", in other words, 400 men, down at the Bar which was open until 1am in the morning, all drinking beer, and then singing Hymns. No drunkenness at all, but a great and very cultural gathering around beer and hymns. What do you think of that? I am really look forward to getting your feedback...

Aug-20-¡Esperándonos con los nombres!

PERSEVERANCIA

Génesis 32:27-28
¿Cómo te llamas? le preguntó el hombre. Me llamo Jacob respondió.

Aug-15-Word For The Week

Key Word:- PUSSY CATS

Title:- No Cowards Soul Is Mine

John 15:27
And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning

Welcome to Word For The Week

The Church in England has three options before it,

FIGHT
FLIGHT
PREPARE FOR GUERRILLA WARFARE

1) Fight - We need to fight like never before. What I mean by this is to have a true and public proclamation of the Gospel which is, REPENTANCE from dead works and FAITH in Jesus Christ. This message needs first to be preached in our churches, that the silliness of the last 15 years may be washed away. WE NEED AN ANOINTING OF HOLY SPIRIT CONVICTION - then the real ability to point Jesus to the Saviour.

2) Flight. If we cannot do this then lets get out of here! Let's look for another city of God in another temporal land. Lets forge a renewed pilgrimage to the land across the pond or the land down under. Maybe there we can find some temporary respite from the wrath which is about to come upon our nation

3) Prepare for guerrilla warfare. In other words, no that we are being over run by Islam and secular humanism. All we can do is stand on the side lines as we watch the former gobble up the latter. Out of this a fully compromised 'faith' shall arise.

SO, in your strategic planning for the next 25 years....... how shall you proceed?

Finally, just a reminder that the Bible Book Over View Section now has the book of Numbers BBO translated into Spanish. It looks fantastic! Well done Andy & Laura

April 5

Key Word:- MERCY

Title:- Dining with Dennis the Hamster

Deuteronomy 25:4
“You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.

Outside in the darkness adjacent to a closed back door, underneath the low sill of an old damp window, I found my first fond pet, breathing badly and dying of a heart attack. I couldn’t lift Lassie because she was so old and heavy, especially for a young lad like me, so I had to leave her there alone whilst I raced on home to get my father.

It was my first experience of death and I asked my dad “Will Lassie be in heaven?” Indeed, this was the very same question which I also asked the Roman Catholic priest at one of my first confessions. My Father didn’t know what to say and the priest just ignored me and gave me two ‘Our Fathers,’ and a ‘Hail Mary’. I remember mumbling through my penance and was angry that God had no answer to the pain I felt in the loss of this lovely old dog. My first fond pet, found dead.

Obviously, God did not care about dogs. I wonder if He cares about other pets?

Since then I have said goodbye to ‘Patch’ my teenage hound, ‘Marmalade’ our cat, and ‘Dennis’ the hamster. I had great affection for each of them. It’s amazing how much we get attatched to little things. Tell me, “Will they be in heaven? Shall I see these lovely creatures again?”

Born in other countries mind you, these same companions of mine may have also been heartily and possibly thankfully delivered to my hungry stomach! If I ate them, would I see them then in heaven? Would I want to? Now there’s a thought! Will we see each KFC we have devoured, and wow at each cow we have consumed? Will animals be redeemed? I mean, just how does God care about the animal kingdom? Are they but mere fun and fodder for those created in His image? William Blake in his Poem, At the Last Judgment’ writes: -

A dog starved at his masters gate
Predicts the ruin of the state
A horse misused upon the road
Cries to heaven for human blood

I have yet to
see many works addressing God’s relation to, and God’s delight in, His very own animal kingdom. Mind you, I can understand the avoidance of the issue for I don’t begin to understand the purpose of soft deer and hungry carnivores being placed on the same planet? Except that sin and bloody sacrifice are Scripturally speaking, always destined to walk hand in hand in this great story of ours, then the reason for the created and open ferocity, ripped skin and shed blood of the animal Kingdom eludes me. I can barely imagine what a redeemed animal Kingdom will look like, for I am sure there will be no more ripped and torn carcases. If so, then surely then, the carrion we see now will be out of a job?

Never the less, I know Jesus ate fish, and at least once a year was partial to little roast lamb Himself. I know He rode on a donkey. I know He shall yet come with clouds descending, riding on a mighty white warhorse; I know His throne is surrounded by composite and fantastic creatures. I know He cuddles kittens and pats dogs, and loves His creation and calls them all very, very good, even at one point with Job of old, delighting in it’s created ferocity whilst pointing to some kind of Dinosaur and shouting in glee, saying,: “Behold Behemoth!”

Yes indeed, we can say that God gets excited about His fantastic creation and that He has entrusted it to us, to use it, to utilize it, to tend it and especially, to respect it.

Will I see Dennis the hamster again? In the light of my God withholding no good thing and loving me immensely I think I have to say this to that question: “If I want to dine with Dennis the Hamster in my heavenly home, then I believe I will!” I’m partial to the right bit of lettuce. In the meantime, let us respect God’s magnificent creation and remember the lines of William Blake when he says

A dog starved at his masters gate
Predicts the ruin of the state
A horse misused upon the road
Cries to heaven for human blood
